Origami Installation at Pass the Baton

Paper Crane Installation

Thanks to bilingual MC Haruka-san’s initiative, I was in charge of the community origami project, the paper crane installation and workshop at the event hosted by the Sydney Japanese community, JCS.
The event welcomed 88-year-old Hiroshima survivor Ms Keiko Ogura, who spoke to Sydney’s high school students and the public about her experience and the importance of peace. It was a rare and moving opportunity to hear her story firsthand, which deeply touched everyone-including me.
The event was also featured on SBS World News and TBS(Tokyo Broadcasting System).

Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary!

Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary Couple

Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary

The first Wedding Anniversary is PAPER!

I have met many happy couples who wanted to do some special events for their first Wedding Anniversary.
Because the first wedding anniversary is paper, they came to the origami workshop to make special origami artworks.

They always tell me some lovely episodes.
Today’s couple told me so many heartwarming stories. One of them is how he proposed to her. Fantastic.

Congratulations and wish both of you happy and lovely lives together forever.

Paper Crane Installation at Sydney Town Hall

Art Installation at Sydney Town Hall

Tea room & origami installation

Art installation at the beautiful Sydney Town Hall.
It was a part of Japanaroo+ Festive Season Concert installation.

It was a big sweaty day and fight against a clock, I was at the Town Hall from 8 am till 11 pm at night!
However, I really enjoyed being a part of the team and the venue was amazing.  The concert with many talents was amazing.

311 Paper Cranes

Folded With Love

311 paper cranes
My 311 Paper Cranes installation was displayed at the East Japan disaster commemoration event.
Big thanks to my helpers. I couldn’t have done so well without them and I received a lot of nice feedback about my installation.
Mr Kiya, the Consul of General in Sydney congratulated me for making it.
The main stage events also went very well. I was honoured to meet energetic performers, wonderful volunteer staff, visitors and the sponsors that evening.
The event was on the news on TBS and the reporter was Hiroki Iijima.
