Reception for Reiwa-Japan’s new year

Mr Keizo Takewaka of the Consul-General of Japan and Dr Gene Sherman of Sherman Centre for Culture had a dinner together and I was one of the guests in April 2019. The biggest Japanese news paper in Sydney, Nichigo Press in May issue had an article about it.

I attended at the Consul-General of Japan’s reception in celebration of His Majesty the Emperor’s Accession to the Throne in May 2019.

Dinner with Gene Sherman and Akira Isogawa at Consul General of Japan

I was at the dinner table with Gene Sherman, Akira Isogawa and Tae Gessner at Consul-General of Japan. There were many wonderful guests and overwhelmed to be there.
The Consul-General showed my kimono bird to Gene and talked about origami.
What an honour!

Yes, it is also a great stress-reliever, plus it’s fun!

I have just install my works at the front window of the pop up gallery in Seaforth.

Give me a smile each time I see it.

I hand painted with the traditional Japanese paints on Japanese washi paper.
Then folded origami roses one by one.
I added a knot with a red string – Double leaf knot is a very special knot which bring you a very good luck.
As a creator myself, I am so happy what I created.
Gives me a big smile each time I see the work.

My new work, Weaving Tale was created based on Greek mythology.

I was inspired the Greek mythology, the Story of Arachne, the weaver.
In Greek mythology, Arachne was a talented weaver who bragged that her skill as better than Athena, the goddess. As a punishment, Arachne was turned into a spider and kept spinning forever.

My Sumi-ink paintings are now showing at Glen street gallery

My sumi ink paintings are included in the group exhibition.
Art and Soul collectives always exhibit the works at Glen street theatre in Belrose.
It is nice to have exposure to the public and occasional sales!
